A long nipple (also known as a barrel nipple) is a pipe nipple with an extended unthreaded center section between two externally threaded ends. The exposed center section provides a practical grip point for tools during installation and allows precise spacing between connected fittings. Unlike close nipples, long nipples offer flexibility in pipeline layout where a specific distance must be maintained between two threaded connections.
Our long black steel nipples are cut and threaded from black carbon steel pipe, offering the same robust performance as our other nipple types with the added benefit of adjustable center length.
